ELIZABETH HISAW

Board Member (she/her)
Served Since August 2025

Elizabeth Hisaw trained in classical ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe for 20 years at the Alton Academy of Dance under the instruction of Mrs. Betty McRoberts. During her training, she traveled and performed with Dance Olympus in 1984 as a VIP dancer. She continued her dance education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) in the Department of Theatre & Dance, where she had the privilege of performing in the 1998 Opus performance choreographed by the Katherine Dunham Dance Company.

In 2001, Elizabeth earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Healthcare Administration. After 18 years in the Clinical Research industry and building a family, her passion for dance was reignited through her daughter’s love for dance.  In 2023, she founded BALANCE Dance Competition, LLC, with the goal of promoting a healthy dance-life balance within the competitive dance community. This vision has since evolved into the creation of THE RETREAT 2024, a unique initiative designed to offer performing arts students the opportunity to learn from community experts in a stress-free, non-competitive environment.

In 2025, Elizabeth Hisaw reached a meaningful milestone by joining the Board of Directors of Resilience Dance Company in St. Louis, MO. This role deepens her commitment to fostering inclusive, artist-centered spaces and shaping the future of dance in the region. Her extensive experience and passion for the performing arts align seamlessly with the company’s mission to empower dancers of all backgrounds through education, artistic expression, and community engagement. As a board member, Elizabeth is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where every performer feels seen, inspired, connected and uplifted.
